This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the physical hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the pictured unit. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers who purchase $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
