This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This circuit board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If a chip transplant is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
