This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Most hard drive PCBs store unique system data in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either physically moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
