This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before ordering, verify that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip that is required for correct operation. That ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, we provide help: for purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
