This listing is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your problem, please consult our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs store critical configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip (or its contents) must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
