Item is the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these boards, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for use in data recovery and hard drive repair tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data on a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the soldering or chip swap. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either move the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
