This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) ONLY — no physical hard drive is included. Because we have a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Note: most WD PCBs contain a unique ROM memory chip that stores essential drive parameters; that ROM data must be present on the replacement board for the drive to function. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
