Sold: hard drive PCB / logic board only. The actual hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock many boards, the PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This board is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
