This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. We stock a large number of these PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data recovery tasks, this PCB can be used as a replacement part during recovery or repair procedures. Most PCBs contain unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for proper drive operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
