This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery projects. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either physically moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
