This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verifying compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; that ROM or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
