This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs store drive-specific settings in an onboard ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
