Listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — NO hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This part is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board or reprogrammed there. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, a local computer technician can usually transfer the ROM chip. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
