This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of replacement PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or repair of compatible WD drives. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will solve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Important: many hard drive PCBs store unique information on a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can typically perform that procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
