This listing includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB, logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. To confirm whether swapping the PCB will resolve your drive problem, please consult our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers with purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
