This sale is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). The actual PCB shipped may differ slightly from the photo due to our large inventory — NO hard drive is included. These replacement boards are intended for HDD repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, verify whether a PCB swap will solve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly. That ROM or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If a physical transfer of the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the solder/move. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transferring the ROM chip to the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
