This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We maintain a large stock of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be moved or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer repair technician can usually perform the task. For customers who spend $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
