This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — NO hard drive is included. We keep a large stock of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery, this replacement board requires proper matching and setup to work correctly. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will fix your drive by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is essential for the drive to operate. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transplanted, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers who spend $60 or more, we include complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
