This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. We stock large quantities, so the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, consult our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique configuration stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
