Conformed to AWS A5.9/ASME SFA A5.9/ER316L; 2-lb net weight of stainless steel welding wire; 4" spool wrapped in moisture-resistant plastic film; typical chemical composition %: C=0.02, Cr=18.5, Ni=12.5, Mn=1.80, Mo=2.50, Si=0.35, P=0.01, S= 0.01, remain=Fe. 0.03% maximum carbon content to provide resistance against intergranular corrosion and 2-3% molybdenum increases corrosion resistance; good bead-wetting characteristics, great puddle control and clean welds with minimal smut; use for welding similar alloys containing approximately 2% molybdenum.
