Important pre-purchase information: - Applicable only to Volvo vehicles with a vertical screen manufactured before 23 years ago. - If your car has electrically adjustable seats, a CAN line is typically located under the co-pilot seat. If you do not find a CAN line there, you must connect the CAN line at another available vehicle location—CAN locations vary by model year. If you cannot locate the correct CAN connection, please contact us. - This module will work even if your vehicle did not originally include Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. - The new version does NOT support MirrorLink or USB flash playback. - CarPlay and Android Auto can only run apps that are explicitly supported by those platforms (video apps are not supported). - HiCar (Huawei and Honor phones) works only in mainland China. Apple CarPlay (full-screen, wired or wireless): - Adds full-screen Apple CarPlay functionality while preserving the car’s original features. - Navigation display notes: some navigation guidance lines may not be perfectly centered due to parameter compatibility; automatic day/night mode is not supported, but manual day/night switching is available. - Headlight-based auto display adjustment is not supported due to the complexity of gathering headlight data. Android Auto (full-screen, wired or wireless): - Supports full-screen Android Auto connection; wireless mode is compatible only with select Pixel and Nexus models. - Common apps like Google Maps, Spotify and phone functions are supported through Android Auto. - Navigation display and day/night behavior follow the same limitations as CarPlay: some lines may not be centered; auto day/night is not supported (manual day/night is available). Headlight-based functions are not supported. Special notes for buyers who want full-screen Android Auto: 1. Automatic day/night mode for maps is not supported; manual day/night selection is available. 2. Google Voice Assistant is not officially supported. Some users have managed to use voice by enabling "Hey Google" in Android Auto settings and adding an external microphone—this is not guaranteed. 3. Native display parameters of Google/Android Auto limit true full-screen behavior; we employ a technical workaround to achieve full-screen on Volvo displays. Android Auto’s display quality may be lower than CarPlay’s, but it is optimized as much as possible. If any of these three points are unacceptable to you, please do not purchase—returns are not accepted for these reasons. Steering wheel, voice and camera support: - Retains all original steering wheel controls while in CarPlay/Android Auto mode (track skip, volume, etc.). - Google Assistant is not supported. - Siri: wake with “Hi, Siri” or by long-pressing the screen to activate Siri on your phone. Note that some Siri features not supported by CarPlay will not appear on the full-screen CarPlay interface. Voice activation via “Hi, Siri” may be difficult to detect if the phone is far from the car’s microphone; using the touchscreen to trigger Siri is recommended. Siri’s spoken volume can be low—activate Siri then raise the phone’s volume as needed. - OEM rear view camera is supported: with the provided wiring, the display will automatically switch to the rear camera when reversing. Aftermarket cameras are not supported.
