Compatibility: Designed for BMW i3 I01 models from 2012 to 2017 equipped with the NBT System. Please verify your car system before ordering. Note: CarPlay signal travels via the LVDS cable — we recommend installing the decoder box in the glove box. Placing the box near the rear seats will lengthen the LVDS run and can weaken the signal, causing screen flicker. What it is: This product is a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto retrofit decoder box, not a replacement display. The unit connects to the factory CD/host using the supplied wiring harness. After installation you retain the original BMW interface while adding modern smartphone integration and media features. Features: Supports wireless and wired Apple CarPlay, wireless and wired Android Auto, and MirrorLink. Play YouTube, TV news, view Photos, and use Navigation. Voice assistants are supported (Siri and “OK Google”), allowing hands-free control while driving. Steering wheel & controls: The decoder supports the steering wheel voice-control button and the Tel (phone) button; these will work with the CarPlay interface. Other steering wheel buttons are not supported. Camera & video inputs: Compatible with the factory reverse camera and parking radar. Also supports aftermarket reverse cameras, 360° camera systems, and front-view DVR cameras (CVBS input). Installation notes: Dashboard removal is required to access and connect the wiring. Most installation issues result from incorrect cable connections or settings; the seller offers assistance to resolve these. After installation, test and confirm all functions before reassembling the dashboard.
