Interlocking panels reinforce the structure so the unit is sturdy enough that it does not rock or attempt to turn over even when spinning, and it will remain stable in winds up to 40 mph as long as there is compost inside. Dual-chamber design: two separate compartments let you harvest finished compost from one side while continuing to add new material to the other — faster and more convenient than a single-barrel composter. You can also add a dry source to prevent the compost from becoming mushy. Efficient aeration and mixing: the barrel includes aeration holes and deep internal fins that break up clumps and draw oxygen into the pile. Openings are divided for easy loading — simply slide the door open to add material and slide closed. Be sure to install the tabs in the holes so the panel makes a flat seam. Easy to rotate and assemble: the tumbler is designed to turn smoothly and is relatively quick to put together (about half an hour or less). A detailed manual with installation steps is included in every package, and a pair of gloves plus a screwdriver are provided. When installing the center divider note the angled edges with offsets — make sure the edge fits into the panel slots. Tip: use the self locking nuts by threading the nuts on until they touch the plastic, then tighten the screws without holding the nut. Faster composting and compact footprint: the black exterior helps absorb sunlight to raise internal temperatures and speed decomposition.
